The biscotti scaurati of Panificio Distefano belong to the Easter tradition of Ragusa. The bakery prepares them with flour, eggs, lard, sugar and anise seeds: they are first boiled and baked in the oven the following day. They are a characteristic taste of traditional Hyblaean confectionery, also offered in the small rounded form shown in the bakery’s photograph.
