Tipp.food does not use its own cookies for the operation of the site and, at present, does not use cookies or other tracking tools for advertising, profiling or visit analysis purposes.

For certain technical features, however, we use browser storage technologies, such as localStorage and sessionStorage. These tools are necessary to ensure the correct operation of certain service functions.

In particular, Tipp.food uses the browser’s local storage to manage user authentication through Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Amazon Cognito, maintain the login session, complete the authentication flow via magic link, link any reports started before login and technically manage the uploading of photographs.

Session storage may also be used to temporarily remember the location selected by the user while browsing. This information is deleted when the browser session is closed or when the user resets the geographical context by returning to the Home page.

When the user chooses to use their own location, Tipp.food may request access to the device’s geolocation. Access takes place exclusively following an action by the user and is subject to the authorization requested directly by the browser. The coordinates are used to identify the relevant location and are not stored by Tipp.food as the user’s permanent location.

Images published on the platform are managed through Amazon Web Services. Viewing and uploading may use temporary, signed addresses, without the use of tracking cookies.

Tipp.food currently does not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, advertising tools, remarketing systems or other technologies intended to track users’ behaviour for commercial or profiling purposes.

The Google Places and Google Geocoding services used by Tipp.food are queried by our systems and not directly by the user’s browser during normal browsing. The “Directions” link on the pages of the Venues, however, leads to Google Maps: only by choosing to open it does the user leave Tipp.food and access a Google service, subject to Google’s terms and privacy policies.

Since, at present, we do not use tracking tools that require prior consent, Tipp.food does not display a cookie acceptance banner. Should we introduce analytics, advertising tools or other technologies in the future for which consent is required, this notice and the methods for managing preferences will be updated accordingly.
