Terms and conditions

Tipp.food Terms and Conditions of Use

Last updated: September 10, 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of Tipp.food, a platform dedicated to discovering and sharing dishes, specialties, products and other things that users consider worth tasting.

By using Tipp.food and, in particular, by creating an account or submitting a recommendation, the user accepts these Terms and Conditions.

1. Service operator

Tipp.food is a project operated by:

Studio Scivoletto S.r.l. Unipersonale Via Catagirasi snc 97015 Modica (RG) – Italy VAT No. 01194800882 Certified email: studioscivolettosas@pec.it Email: info@studioscivoletto.it Legal representative: Giambattista Scivoletto

2. What Tipp.food is

Tipp.food was created to collect and share recommendations about what is worth tasting and where to find it.

A “Tipp” may concern, by way of example:

  • a dish;
  • a dessert;
  • a local specialty;
  • a baked product;
  • an ice cream;
  • a sandwich;
  • a food product;
  • any other preparation or food product that the user considers worth recommending.

Tipp.food is not intended as a system for comprehensive reviews of restaurants or businesses and does not necessarily use votes, stars or traditional classifications.

The presence of a Tipp indicates that one or more people considered something worth highlighting. It does not constitute certification of the overall quality of the Venue where it is offered.

3. Use of the service

Tipp.food’s public pages may be viewed without registration.

Some features, including management of one’s contributions and profile, require an account.

Tipp.food is currently offered to users without a fee for viewing, registration or submitting recommendations, except for any future features expressly indicated as paid.

Any future introduction of paid services will not automatically result in charges for existing free features without adequate notice to the user.

4. Registration and accounts

Registration takes place through a valid email address and a passwordless authentication system based on a magic link or temporary code.

The user is responsible for access to their email inbox and must take the ordinary precautions necessary to prevent its use by unauthorized persons.

The account is personal.

It is not permitted to:

  • use another person’s identity;
  • create a profile for deceptive purposes;
  • impersonate other users, businesses or third parties;
  • use automated systems to create accounts in bulk;
  • use the service to circumvent moderation, security or abuse-prevention systems.

Tipp.food may suspend or delete accounts used in violation of these Terms.

5. Nickname

Each user may choose a public nickname identifying their contributions.

The nickname:

  • must be available;
  • must not impersonate other people or organizations;
  • must not be offensive, unlawful or misleading;
  • must not infringe third-party rights;
  • may be subject to technical rules concerning length and permitted characters.

The nickname constitutes the user’s public identity within Tipp.food and may also be used in the address of the relevant public page.

To ensure stability of public pages, prevent impersonation and maintain a consistent history of contributions, used nicknames are not recycled.

Even after an account is deleted, its nickname may therefore remain reserved and not be assigned to another person.

6. Minimum age

Use of a Tipp.food account is permitted for users who are at least 14 years old.

Anyone under 14 must not independently create an account or submit content through Tipp.food.

Where required by applicable law, use of the service by a minor may require the involvement or authorization of the person exercising parental responsibility.

Tipp.food is not specifically designed as a service intended for minors.

If it is established that an account was created in violation of these conditions, Tipp.food may suspend or delete it and take the necessary measures concerning the related data.

7. Submitting a Tipp

The user may recommend something they have tasted and consider worth recommending to others.

A recommendation may include:

  • the Tipp name;
  • the Venue where it can be found;
  • the location;
  • a reason or personal testimony;
  • photographs;
  • other information provided by the service.

Users should submit authentic experiences and provide information they believe to be correct at the time of submission.

Tipp.food may verify, edit editorially, combine, classify, approve or reject recommendations according to its editorial rules.

8. Tipp, recommendation and canonical content

It is important to distinguish between the Tipp and the user’s recommendation.

The Tipp is the editorial entity used by the platform to represent something to taste at a particular Venue.

Multiple users may recommend the same Tipp.

The person who submits the first recommendation does not acquire exclusive rights to the Tipp, its name, its page or its connection with the Venue.

Tipp.food may:

  • combine duplicate recommendations;
  • correct the canonical name of a Tipp;
  • correctly associate a Tipp with the relevant Venue;
  • correct geographical information;
  • organize Tipps and Venues within their respective Destinations;
  • modify slugs and page addresses while maintaining, where appropriate, the relevant redirects;
  • remove duplicates or entities created in error.

The personal testimony, photographs and other original content supplied by the user remain attributed to the relevant contribution as provided in these Terms.

9. Recommendations of the same Tipp by multiple people

When a Tipp is already present on Tipp.food, another user may add their own recommendation.

Different recommendations may be shown on the same page and contribute to the overall number of people who have recommended that Tipp.

The number of recommendations does not necessarily represent a scientific, statistical or qualitative evaluation of the product or Venue.

Tipp.food may adopt technical and editorial criteria to prevent duplication, abuse or multiple recommendations of the same Tipp by the same account.

10. User responsibility for content

The user is responsible for the content they submit to Tipp.food.

By submitting text, a photograph or other material, the user declares, to the best of their knowledge and responsibility:

  • that they have the right to use and share that content;
  • that the content does not infringe copyrights, trademarks, image rights or other third-party rights;
  • that the content is not unlawful, defamatory, threatening or misleading;
  • that it does not contain offensive material or material incompatible with the purpose of the service;
  • that it does not intentionally contain unnecessary personal data of third parties;
  • that the information provided derives from a real experience or is otherwise presented in a non-misleading manner.

The user must not use Tipp.food to publish covert promotional content, spam or material submitted for manipulative purposes.

11. Photographs

The user may upload photographs relating to the Tipp or suggest photographs of the Venue.

The user must have the right to use and publish the uploaded images.

In particular, the user must pay attention to the recognizable presence of other people and, where necessary, ensure that the required authorizations have been obtained.

Tipp.food may:

  • resize;
  • compress;
  • re-encode;
  • crop technically or editorially where necessary;
  • remove metadata;
  • remove EXIF information and GPS coordinates;
  • create optimized versions;
  • improve brightness, contrast, color, sharpness, framing and other technical or aesthetic aspects of the image;
  • retouch, correct and optimize photographs;
  • use image-processing software and artificial-intelligence-based tools for these activities;
  • use the images in the different sizes and formats required by the interface and channels through which Tipp.food presents and promotes its content.

These transformations serve technical, editorial, security, optimization and service-presentation purposes.

The interventions may also include modifications intended to improve the visual presentation of the content, provided they are not used to intentionally attribute substantially false or misleading characteristics to the Tipp, Venue or author.

Photographs may be moderated before publication.

12. Content license

The user retains ownership of the rights to texts, photographs and other original content of which they are the author.

By submitting content to Tipp.food, the user grants Studio Scivoletto S.r.l. Unipersonale a free, non-exclusive, worldwide license, limited to what is necessary to:

  • store the content;
  • process it technically;
  • moderate it;
  • publish it on Tipp.food;
  • reproduce it on the service’s pages and through its features;
  • adapt it to different devices and formats;
  • create previews and optimized versions;
  • associate it with the Tipp, Venue, Destination and author’s public profile;
  • make it available through the service’s ordinary sharing and indexing features;
  • use, reproduce and adapt it on Tipp.food’s official social profiles and channels, including in editorial content intended to present and promote Tipp.food, the Tipps, the Venues and the Destinations on the platform.

This use may include publishing photographs, texts or excerpts of contributions on Tipp.food’s official social channels, including together with the name of the Tipp, Venue, location or Destination and links to Tipp.food.

The license also permits the technical and editorial adaptations reasonably necessary to publish and present content through different channels, including cropping, resizing, re-encoding, format adaptation, image correction and enhancement, including through photographic-processing software or artificial-intelligence tools, as well as selecting text excerpts, while respecting the substantial meaning of the contribution and without intentionally attributing substantially false or misleading characteristics to the Tipp, Venue or author.

The license does not transfer ownership of the content to Tipp.food and is non-exclusive: the user remains free to use their content elsewhere.

By virtue of this clause, Tipp.food does not acquire a general right to independently sell the user’s photographs or texts to third parties as works separate from the service.

The license remains in force for as long as the content remains lawfully published or stored within Tipp.food and ceases, for future uses, when the content is definitively removed, without prejudice to the technical periods required for backups and uses already lawfully carried out.

13. Improvement and editorial modification of texts

Tipp.food may provide tools to improve the form of a testimony or may carry out editorial interventions intended to:

  • correct spelling errors;
  • improve readability and clarity;
  • eliminate repetitions;
  • standardize presentation;
  • correct technical or formal elements;
  • adapt the text to the platform’s editorial style.

These activities may also be carried out with the assistance of artificial-intelligence tools.

The objective is to preserve the substantial meaning of the original contribution.

The user remains responsible for the information and statements originally provided.

Tipp.food may reject or further modify text when necessary for editorial, legal, security or service-quality reasons.

14. Moderation

Submitting content does not automatically confer a right to publication.

Tipp.food may moderate:

  • new Tipps;
  • recommendations;
  • texts;
  • photographs;
  • photographs of Venues;
  • subsequent modifications;
  • other content submitted by users.

Tipp.food may approve, reject, suspend or remove content when it believes that the content:

  • violates these Terms;
  • is duplicated;
  • is manifestly incorrect;
  • is irrelevant;
  • contains unlawful or inappropriate material;
  • infringes third-party rights;
  • presents risks to the security or reliability of the service;
  • has manipulative, promotional or abusive purposes;
  • does not satisfy the platform’s editorial criteria.

Moderation does not mean that Tipp.food assumes responsibility for every statement or item of content published by users.

15. Modifying one’s contributions

The user may manage their contributions through the features made available in the profile.

In particular, the user may:

  • propose changes to their text;
  • add photographs;
  • request removal of their photographs;
  • suggest photographs of the Venue.

Changes to already published content may be subject to renewed moderation.

During review, previously approved content may remain publicly visible.

The user may not directly modify shared canonical data such as the Tipp name, Venue or geographical information when those details also affect other users’ contributions. These elements are managed editorially by Tipp.food.

16. Information about Venues

Information relating to Venues may come from:

  • user recommendations;
  • publicly available sources;
  • official business websites;
  • Google Places or other geographical services;
  • Tipp.food’s checks and editorial activities.

Tipp.food seeks to keep this information correct but does not guarantee that it will always be complete, up to date or error-free.

In particular, unless expressly indicated, Tipp.food does not guarantee:

  • opening hours;
  • prices;
  • product availability;
  • menus;
  • closing days;
  • accessibility;
  • available services;
  • that a particular Tipp will remain on the Venue’s menu or available offerings.

Before making a trip specifically to try a Tipp, the user may verify directly with the Venue any information they consider essential.

17. No implied relationship with Venues

The presence of a Venue on Tipp.food does not necessarily imply:

  • a commercial collaboration;
  • sponsorship;
  • affiliation;
  • official approval;
  • a contractual relationship between Tipp.food and the Venue.

Likewise, the presence of a Tipp does not necessarily mean that the Venue requested, approved or verified the related recommendation.

Any commercial relationships or sponsored content must be identified as such when present.

18. Reports concerning Venues and content

A Venue, interested party or other person who believes that information is inaccurate or that content infringes their rights may contact Tipp.food.

They may write to:

info@studioscivoletto.it

indicating, where possible:

  • the link to the relevant page;
  • the content being reported;
  • the reason for the request;
  • information useful for its verification.

Tipp.food will assess the report and may correct, suspend or remove content where appropriate.

19. Prohibited uses

Tipp.food must not be used to:

  • publish unlawful content;
  • defame, threaten or harass other people;
  • infringe copyrights, trademarks or other third-party rights;
  • publish photographs without having the right to do so;
  • send spam;
  • create false or artificial recommendations;
  • manipulate recommendation counts;
  • use multiple accounts to artificially alter perceptions of a Tipp;
  • impersonate other people;
  • attempt to access unauthorized data or functions;
  • interfere with the security or operation of the platform;
  • circumvent rate limits, anti-abuse systems or moderation;
  • carry out mass scraping or automated access that compromises the service;
  • use Tipp.food to distribute malware, malicious code or fraudulent content.

Tipp.food may adopt technical and organizational measures to prevent or counter such conduct.

20. Account suspension and closure

Tipp.food may suspend or close an account in the event of:

  • serious or repeated violations of these Terms;
  • fraudulent or abusive use;
  • attempts to manipulate the platform;
  • infringement of third-party rights;
  • security risks;
  • legal obligations or orders from the competent authority.

Where reasonably possible and appropriate, Tipp.food may inform the user of the reasons for suspension or closure.

Suspension or closure of an account does not prevent retention of data strictly necessary for legal obligations, security, abuse prevention or protection of rights.

21. Voluntary account deletion

The user may request deletion of their account through the features available on the platform or by contacting Tipp.food.

Deletion entails removal of the authentication account, profile, sessions, tokens and avatar, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Where provided by the available features, the user may choose between:

  • deleting the account while anonymizing previously published contributions;
  • deleting the account and their content, within the technically and legally applicable limits.

In the first case, contributions may remain present on Tipp.food, but links to the user’s identity are removed and the author may be shown as “Deleted user”.

The previously used nickname may remain reserved and not be assigned to another user.

22. Content after account deletion

When the user chooses to retain their contributions in anonymized form, the license provided by these Terms continues to apply to content that remains published, solely to allow its presence and use within Tipp.food and on its official channels as provided in Article 12.

When deletion of content is requested and applicable, Tipp.food removes it from operational systems and ceases using it for new publications, including new publications on its official social channels.

Technical copies may temporarily remain in backup and point-in-time recovery systems; these are not used for the platform’s ordinary activities and are deleted according to the applicable retention cycles.

Uses lawfully carried out before removal of the content remain unaffected.

23. Tipp.food intellectual property

The trademark, name, logo, graphics, software, platform organization, design, features and other original elements of Tipp.food are owned by Studio Scivoletto S.r.l. Unipersonale or used on the basis of the relevant rights.

Users’ original content remains subject to the rights of its respective authors as provided in these Terms.

It is not permitted to reproduce, copy or systematically use substantial parts of the platform to create competing services, parallel databases or other derivative products in violation of applicable rights.

Ordinary sharing of Tipp.food’s public links is permitted and encouraged.

24. Third-party services and content

Tipp.food uses or may link to services provided by third parties, including geographical services, maps and technological infrastructure.

For example, the “Directions” link may take the user to Google Maps.

Use of external services is subject to the conditions established by their respective operators.

Tipp.food is not responsible for the operation, availability or content of external websites and services over which it has no control.

25. Service availability

Tipp.food is developed and updated over time.

Although Studio Scivoletto S.r.l. Unipersonale seeks to ensure continuity and reliability, it does not guarantee that the service will be available without interruption or errors at all times.

Temporary interruptions may occur, for example, due to:

  • maintenance;
  • updates;
  • infrastructure problems;
  • security interventions;
  • malfunctions of external providers;
  • force majeure;
  • technical or organizational needs.

Tipp.food may also modify, add or remove features as the service evolves.

26. Reliability of information

Tipp.food collects information from users, public sources, external services and editorial activities.

Although it adopts verification and moderation procedures, it cannot guarantee that every item of information will always be complete, up to date or error-free.

Published information is primarily intended for information and discovery purposes.

In particular, Tipp.food does not guarantee that:

  • a given product will be available when the user visits the Venue;
  • the product will always be prepared in the same way;
  • prices, menus and commercial conditions will remain unchanged;
  • a business will be open at a particular time;
  • geographical directions or information from third parties will be error-free.

When information is decisive for a visit, it is advisable to verify it directly with the Venue.

27. Personal experiences and tastes

A Tipp represents a recommendation based on the experience and personal judgment of one or more people.

Taste is subjective.

The presence of numerous recommendations may indicate that several people considered something worth trying, but it does not guarantee that every other user will have the same experience or judgment.

Tipp.food does not guarantee user satisfaction with respect to a dish, product, Venue or experience recommended on the platform.

28. Allergies, intolerances and food information

Tipp.food must not be used as an authoritative source of information concerning allergens, ingredients, intolerances, contamination, food preparation or particular dietary requirements.

Photographs, descriptions and testimonies on the platform may be incomplete, outdated or refer to a preparation different from the one subsequently available.

Anyone with allergies, intolerances or specific dietary requirements must verify the necessary information directly with the Venue before ordering or consuming a product.

Tipp.food does not replace the information that must be provided by the food operator under applicable law.

29. Relationships between users and Venues

Tipp.food provides information that may help users identify a Venue where a particular Tipp can be found.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Tipp.food does not participate in the commercial relationship between the user and the Venue.

Any purchases, reservations, payments, requests, complaints or other commercial relationships take place directly between the user and the relevant business.

Studio Scivoletto S.r.l. Unipersonale is not a party to those relationships and assumes no obligations concerning the supply of the Venue’s products or services.

30. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Studio Scivoletto S.r.l. Unipersonale is not liable for damages arising exclusively from:

  • inaccurate or outdated information provided by users or third-party sources;
  • temporary unavailability of the service;
  • unavailability of a Tipp at a Venue;
  • changes to prices, menus, ingredients or preparation methods;
  • use of external websites or services accessed through Tipp.food;
  • uses of the service contrary to these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

In particular, mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

31. Reporting violations and removing content

Anyone who believes that content on Tipp.food:

  • infringes one of their rights;
  • uses one of their photographs without authorization;
  • contains personal data published unlawfully;
  • is defamatory or unlawful;
  • infringes intellectual-property rights;
  • presents other legally relevant issues;

may submit a report to info@studioscivoletto.it.

It is advisable to provide the exact link to the content and the information necessary to allow the request to be verified.

Tipp.food may provisionally suspend content during investigations where appropriate.

32. Changes to the service

Studio Scivoletto S.r.l. Unipersonale may modify Tipp.food in order to:

  • introduce new features;
  • improve existing ones;
  • change the organization of content;
  • update moderation systems;
  • improve security and reliability;
  • comply with regulatory changes;
  • modify or discontinue features that are no longer sustainable or useful.

The changes do not give the user a right to the indefinite preservation of every individual feature in its original form.

33. Changes to the Terms and Conditions

These Terms may be updated to reflect changes to the service, applicable law or the ways in which the platform is used.

The updated version is published on Tipp.food with the date of the latest update.

In the event of substantial changes significantly affecting the rights or obligations of registered users, Tipp.food may provide specific notice through the website or available contact details, where appropriate or required by law.

Use of the service after the new Terms enter into force is governed by the updated version, without prejudice to the user’s mandatory rights.

34. Applicable law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Italian law, without prejudice to the application of any mandatory rules provided by the law of the user’s country of residence where applicable.

35. Jurisdiction

Any disputes relating to these Terms are subject to the jurisdiction rules established by law.

Where the user is a consumer, the court having jurisdiction under mandatory consumer-protection rules remains competent.

In all other cases, unless otherwise mandatorily provided by law, jurisdiction lies with the court determined under applicable Italian law.

36. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is deemed void, invalid or unenforceable, this does not automatically invalidate the other provisions, which will continue to take effect to the extent permitted by law.

The relevant provision will, where possible, be interpreted in the manner closest to its original purpose and compatible with applicable law.

37. Failure to exercise a right

Failure or delay by Studio Scivoletto S.r.l. Unipersonale in exercising a right provided by these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right.

Use of these features and the related Google content is subject to the current versions of the Google Maps Additional Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy, which are incorporated into these Terms.
