How does it work

Tipp.food works in a simple way: someone tastes something they consider special and points it out, indicating exactly where others can find it.

A Tipp can be a dish, a dessert, a local specialty, a baked product, an ice cream, a sandwich or anything else that, after trying it, you would recommend to a friend with a very simple phrase: “If you go there, try this.”

To report a Tipp, simply indicate what you tasted, where you found it and, if you wish, briefly explain why you think it is worth trying. You can also add photographs. Before publication, reports and images are checked.

Each Tipp has its own page, where the reports from people who have tried it are collected. If a Tipp is already present on Tipp.food, there is therefore no need to create a new one: you can add your own report and confirm that you too think it deserves to be tried.

There are no stars, and we do not ask you to rate the venue. Tipp.food was not created to determine which restaurant is the best, but to point out something specific that is worth trying right there.

Tipps are also organised by location. This way, you can discover what to try in a city or at a particular destination, see where to find each specialty and reach the Venue through the directions available on its page.

Finally, each registered person has their own public page featuring the Tipps they have reported. By following the recommendations of different people, Tipp.food gradually becomes a map built through real experiences and personal suggestions.

The more people participate, the more interesting this map becomes. You do not need to be a food expert: you only need to have tasted something you liked enough to think that someone else should try it too.
