The sfogliatella from Pasticceria Pintauro in Naples is a legendary symbol of Neapolitan pastry-making, born right here in 1818 through a modification of the old convent recipe. In the historic shop on Via Toledo, you can taste the two classic varieties: the frolla, soft and buttery, and the famous riccia, an exceptionally crisp pastry shell enclosing a steaming heart of ricotta and semolina, appreciated here for its delicate flavor.
